Old mother goose…

I have had a few reasons to use my kit over the last week or so, but have been both too busy and to lazy to post about it :). Therefore today’s post will be considered epic!

Last weekend my sister and I had to take my brother to soccer. Not just take him and drop him off but actually sit around and watch him play, not just one but TWO matches. If you actually bother to figure out how long we were there for it works out at about 5 hours. 5 hours of my life that I will never get back, 5 hours that were not exactly overly enjoyable but 5 hours that led to the use of my Emergency kit!! :)

During our time at soccer Steph and I managed to use:

  • hair tie - silly girl left her hair down in this heat
  • hairbrush - she s not as willing as me to look like a fool
  • tissues - apparently the wind didn’t agree with her eyes or something
  • detol - Maccas for tea, say no more
  • sunscreen - after Sydney I was not getting burnt again
  • and my notebook!

My kit did not only come in handy for objects but also provided entertainment and conversation. On the drive to soccer, all three of us had an in depth discussion about my kit and why I had it. My brother came up with some really cool ideas of things I needed to add to the kit or at least put in my car. According to Nat I need a torch, a collapsible bucket and a knife (safety style of course). All are great suggestions which I have taken on board and am in the process of getting :).

Yesterday my kit also came in very handy. I was over catching up with a friend who had to leave for work very soon. Heaven forbid his work pants had a hole in them. Being a male there was no chance in hell he would be mending them any time soon, so luckily I had my sewing kit and my amazing sewing abilities :). A good ten minutes, some thread, a needle and a safety pin later the pants were as good as new and were ready for work. My dear friend now owes me big time. When asked what he would do with out me he replied, that he would just be going to work with a big hole in his pants; Nothing quite like being appreciated!! hahah

Well thats my fun adventures for now :). Not long left of holidays, so soon my kit and I will be out and about every day, which means more oppurtunities to be creative and prepared and more stories. So till my next adventure stay safe and ALWAYS BE PREPARED!!
