Surviving Sydney

My kit and I took our most adventurous trip over the weekend to Sydney. For me it was quite exciting as I had not been on a plane in 12 years (yes people I was 8 last time). Being miss organised and prepared I googled what I can and can’t take on a  plane. Unfortunately flight restrictions meant that various items out of my kit had to stay home. My kit now minus the sewing kit, nail clippers, cutlery and breath mints was dubbed the “mini” kit.

We survived the flight despite extreme nerves and butterflies and landed very excited in Sydney. During my time in away the following items came in very handy:

  • hair ties - I had forgotten how hot it gets in summer (duh!!) due to all the rain we had been having in Brisbane recently
  • Panadol - early rising, heat, days in the sun and living in close proximity meant headaches for me and my sisters
  • lip gloss - a ferry ride from Sydney to Manly is exciting and very windy which leaves your lips extremely dry
  • baby wipes - came in handy for everything from cleaning my dirty sweaty face at the end of the night to wiping spaghetti sauce off my very cute cousin
  • and booby pins- state the obvious here but hair tickling the back of your sweaty neck is not cool!

My time away not only allowed me to use my kit but also lead to new additions to my kit. I would like to welcome the following items:

  • sunscreen (yer I learnt the hard way)
  • soap
  • tissues
  • moisturiser
  • telfast tablets
  • and a note book (got to keep track of these stories somehow)

We are now safely at home, despite flight delays, and are eagerly awaiting the next adventure. I would like to say a massive thank you to my aunt and uncle for letting us invade their house for 4 days and for being supporters of my emergency kit. Love you guys :). Once the sunburn is gone and I have had enough sleep I shall be out tackling the world eagerly finding ways to use my kit.

So stay posted and ALWAYS BE PREPARED. xo
